At the opening ceremony of the conference, Professor Li Zeyuan andMr. Cheng Chonghua (Founder and Honorary Chairman of Delta Group) deliveredspeeches. Prof. Li Zeyuan, foreign academician of the Chinese Academy ofEngineering and director of the Science and Education Program, said that in thenext two to three decades, we will see a large amount of renewable energyentering the power grid, turning it into a distributed micro-grid, which willbe assembled into a large power grid system; among them, a lot of powerelectronic equipment will appear in the smart grid and play an important role. Therefore, the establishment of a special project on power electronics for newpower systems by the Science and Education Program is not only to promote thecultural change of interdisciplinary cooperation in power electronics and powersystems, but also to have the foresight of the current technological innovationand research and development in the industry. Power Electronics New TechnologySymposium has gone through more than twenty years of spring and autumn, verygrateful to all the years of the previous sessions of academicians, professors, scholars, teachers and students involved in the symposium for the promotion ofthe development of the power electronics industry to make efforts. We lookforward to the collaborative innovation and contribution of the participatingstudents, faculty, and industrial R&D personnel across fields andindustries in the future development of smart grid and new power systems withpower electronics. Delta's Founder and Chairman Emeritus, Mr. Chung-Hua Cheng, said that in order to cope with the climate crisis, the construction of newpower systems based on new energy sources is an important way to promote aclean and low-carbon energy transition and help meet the dual-carbon goal, which is very much related to the development of the discipline and technologyof power electronics. With power electronics as its core technology, Deltacontinues to invest in product innovation and research and development toimprove energy conversion efficiency and promote energy conservation and carbonreduction. Integrating energy infrastructure solutions for renewable energy, energy storage, and EV charging is what the team is actively working on, and wehave worked to build distributed smart grids and energy storage solutionsaround the world to enhance the resilience of the power grid with technology inthe hope of taking action to do our part in the energy transition. At the Delta Power Electronics New Power System Summit Forum, TangGuangfu, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and director of theHuairou Laboratory, Wang Chengshan, academician of the Chinese Academy ofEngineering and professor at Tianjin University, and Dr. Ai Zuhua, seniordirector of Delta's Energy Infrastructure & Industrial Solutions BusinessGroup, shared their insights and insights on topics such as "DevelopmentPath for Clean Transformation of China's Power System under the Dual CarbonTarget", "New Distribution System and Power Electronics", and"Development and Synthesis of Energy Storage System Technology".Under the goal of China's power system clean transition development path","new power distribution system and power electronics technology" and"energy storage system technology development and synthesis" andother topics for wonderful sharing, and in the moderator Huazhong University ofScience and Technology Prof. Kang Yong, the moderator of the conference, interacted warmly with the guests on the spot. Experts believe that the energytransition is facing great challenges, and major technological breakthroughsare yet to be realized in the fields of renewable energy, intelligent energysystem, hydrogen energy and energy storage, and clean utilization of fossilenergy. The new power system needs to be cleaned through the power supply, power system flexibility, power system digitalization, power electronics"four" development, to promote energy transformation, change the modeof development, upgrading and restructuring of the power system.
At the meeting, Mr. Wang Hanyu of the team made a final report forthe youth project "Research on Fault Diagnosis Strategies of CascadedH-Bridge Converters for Grid-connected Direct-mounted Photovoltaic", whichwas established in 2021.
